Get ready to kickstart a rewarding teaching career. When you study in the School of Education, you’ll gain the skills and expertise you need to excel in the classroom. And the in-school placements you’ll undertake as part of your degree will give you the experience you need to graduate as a confident teacher.

There is so much variety of content within the course – there is something for everyone and a real focus on diversifying the curriculum and finding teaching methods that work for you as an individual rather than generalising for the whole cohort. The lecturers are really personable and have lots of classroom experience – which means any question you ask they’ve probably felt/experienced the same thing and can give you an open and honest answer. My first-year placement was such an enriching and eye-opening experience as it exposed me to all of the different things teachers are responsible for and how ultimately the well-being of the children in your class comes first. I think if you are looking to do a professional degree – placement is such a good opportunity to dip your toes into the profession and start your journey early on before beginning your career.
