Leeds Trinity University is committed to recruiting students with talent and potential and who we feel will benefit greatly from their academic and non-academic experiences here.
We treat every application on its own merits; we value highly the experience you illustrate in your personal statement.
The following information is designed to give you a general overview of the qualifications we accept.
T levels are accepted amongst a large range of other qualifications.
In most cases, any subject will be considered as long as the grade or predicted grade meets our advertised entry requirements.
If you are taking qualifications that are not included below, please contact our Admissions team who will be happy to advise you.
- call 0113 283 7123 (Monday to Thursday, 9.00am to 5.00pm, or Friday 9.00am to 4.00pm)
- email admissions@leedstrinity.ac.uk
You'll find the entry requirements for each course on the relevant course page, but there are some minimum requirements that apply to all undergraduate degree courses.
You normally need to have five qualifications to meet our minimum entry requirements for any undergraduate degree course.
At least two of these should be Level 3 qualifications which are the equivalent of two full A-levels and one must be GCSE English Language at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) – some courses will accept English Literature Grade 4/C or above instead.
For some courses, you will need additional requirements, for example, Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programmes or when the entry criteria are specified by an accredited body.
If you'd like to workout how many UCAS points your qualifications are worth or if you'd like to know what qualifications we accept, please view the Tariff table below.
The accepted English language requirements for international students are in our admissions policy with the exception of nationals from a majority English speaking country as specified by the UKVI : Knowledge of English - GOV.UK.
We understand you may want a year out to pursue other interests before you start your studies.
If you decide this before you apply you can select the next year of entry on your application form.
But sometimes circumstances change, so if you make the decision after you've applied, you'll need to send a written request as soon as possible to the Admissions team at admissions@leedstrinity.ac.uk.
They will try to accommodate your request where possible.
Deferring your studies will not change the offer conditions, which you'll still need to meet in the year you applied.
Conditional offer
If you have received a conditional offer from us, your place is dependent on you achieving the grades or points outlined in your offer on UCAS Track.
Unconditional offer
If you have received an unconditional offer from us, it means you’ve already met the entry requirements and you’re guaranteed a place.
We take an applicant’s postcode into account when they apply for one of our undergraduate degree courses which means we may be able to offer lower entry requirements for some students from certain areas and those who are care leavers.
If you're a UK student and live in what's known as an area of 'disadvantage' or with low progression to higher education, or you are a care leaver, then you may be eligible for our Contextual Offer Scheme.
Eligibility is based on your home postcode (as indicated on your UCAS application form) or if you have ticked the box on the UCAS form to state that you have been looked after by a local authority.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, your offer may be reduced by up to two grades. For example, for a course with a standard entry tariff of 112 points, we would make a contextual offer of 96 points. For our Primary Education and Nursing undergraduate courses, the offer would be reduced by one grade so that where the standard entry is 112 points, the contextual offer would be 104.
We recognise that not everyone has had access to equal standards of education and that social or socio-economic factors can cause a serious disruption to studies. Our Contextual Offer Scheme enables us to consider your achievements in the context of your background in order to ensure we are being as fair as possible.
We can consider your application to transfer from another university if you meet our transfer criteria.
You must make transfer applications through UCAS.
The normal deadlines still apply, but we would advise that you contact us first to discuss the transfer before making your formal UCAS application.
Transfers are only allowed if you meet the GCSE requirements for the course, and the content of your course must be closely matched to ours to ensure that you have the same background knowledge as students progressing in our own degrees.
It is possible to apply to the second or third year of study, but applying for the third year does have implications for the degree classification. We can discuss this with you when you contact us.
In order for us to discuss a possible transfer with academic staff, when you contact us we will need to know:
- all your GSCE subjects and grades
- all your level 3 qualifications and grades
- all the modules from your current course (you should show how many credits each module is worth) and any results if you already have them
If you are applying for a teacher training course, you must be on a course which leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
We also need information about how your course and school-based training is structured and if we consider a transfer, you would be invited to interview where we would need to see school-based training reports also.
