Recently elected Horsforth Councillors Emmie Bromley and John Garvani were given a tour of Leeds Trinity University by its Chair of the Board of Governors, Jamie Hanley, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Malcolm Todd, and Head of Commercial Enterprises, Damon Shaw.

The group discussed shared values and objectives and how Leeds Trinity can continue to develop its role as a leading higher education establishment, alongside contributing to the Horsforth community.

Professor Malcolm Todd, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Leeds Trinity University, said: “It was great to welcome Horsforth’s new councillors to Leeds Trinity University’s campus.

“We were able to showcase our campus and share our ambitious goals as we continue to put our Strategic Plan into action. It is important to engage with partners in our local community as well as the wider Leeds City Region to create more opportunities for our students and generate a positive impact within the region.

“We look forward to working with both Cllr Bromley and Cllr Garvani in the future.”

Cllr Emmie Bromley said: “Our invitation to Leeds Trinity University has been greatly appreciated. Not only did I enjoy the tour around campus, highlighting the state-of-the-art equipment and teaching on offer to students at the University, but also the discussion and strive to incorporate Horsforth’s community residents.

“The extensive library here has open access to the public and the gym provides a community membership. With many more connections looking likely to be made publicly aware, I look forward to an ongoing relationship and further possibilities for the future.”

Leeds Trinity University’s Strategic Plan 2021-2026 is built around four Strategic Pillars of ‘Education and Experience’, ‘People and Sustainability’, ‘Research, Impact and Innovation’, and ‘Careers and Enterprise’. This is supported by two key themes of Digital Futures and the Leeds City Region.
