Sub-contractors are sought where the University requires specialist staff and / or expertise which are not otherwise available within the University. 

This usually relates to the part delivery of Higher or Degree Apprenticeship programmes or associated provision (English and maths at Level 2). 

The costs for managing apprenticeship sub-contractors are based on a percentage of University overheads necessary to monitor the sub-contractor effectively; this is calculated as a proportion of the contract value and will vary depending on the number of learners involved and frequency of site visits etc.

This fee is however capped at 15%.
